Social media is ALWAYS changing. And as a social media manager for seven years, I know that drives you crazy, because – same!
Despite all the changes, though, three things remained constant. These are the keys to social media success you need to focus on for your business.

1. Value
Value is more than just educational posts!
A common mistake business owners make in their content is posting things THEY think are valuable.
However, you must look into what your audience may think is valuable. More often, the value of your content doesn’t lie in how educational it is.
What “value” are your potential clients/customers looking for in social media? Educational? Emotional? Relational? or Entertainment value? This ‘value’ also changes over time.
How you can unlock your ๐ VALUE
A deep understanding of your target audience is a must.
Know who exactly you are trying to attract (demographics), so you will better understand their desires, pain points, and social media behaviors. This will allow you to have a better social media strategy to position your value.
2. Consistency
Consistency doesn’t mean posting every day.
Consistency is getting the right cadence that is sustainable for your businessโa schedule that your audience can depend on and that does not lead you or your social media person to burn out.
Consistency also means having dependable types of content, a consistent aesthetic and tone, a repeating intro, or aligned topics. People are looking for comfort content or at least seeking some sort of consistent feelings from you.
When you constantly change and experiment without anything sinking in, people unfollow really fast.
How you can unlock ๐ CONSISTENCY
Create a content plan mapping out your schedule of posting and content pillars for your business.
This will allow you to have a predictable cadence that your audience can rely on. Ideally a maximum of three topics revolving around one theme or niche that your audience can associate you with.
3. Community
You need to stop seeing your followers as numbers.
Each of them is a person who sees value in what you are giving or what you can give – that’s why they followed you in the first place!
So make sure you are not just trying to increase your new followers but also nurturing and connecting to your current followers.
Building an authentic community that consumes the value you give and looks forward to you showing up is not an instant thing, of course. It is more of a marathon than a sprint.
How you can unlock ๐ COMMUNITY
To build a community around your brand, engage with them regularly – ask them questions, answer their questions, create content directed to them.
The more your followers feel connected with your brand, the more they are going to support and share your posts and your business.
It will take you months to years of consistently showing up with valuable content for your audience to build.
But for businesses that want to last long, that’s not an issue.
Now, seriously – ask yourself: Which one do you need to work on the most?
When you unlock these three, you will find how strong an impact your online presence will have, even when you donโt have a massive following or viral posts.
You will build trust and an audience ready to buy from you.
