Niching down as a coach

“Should I really niche down?”

A lot of coaches are very skeptical of narrowing down their audience, which is very reasonable.

Because why limit yourself to a smaller audience when you are more than capable of helping different people?

Let me give you 3 reasons why you need to niche down

1. Better visibility in social media

I know that sounds ironic.

But, if you niche down, you’ll have better visibility to people who need you the most (people that actually matter).

If you are still starting, it will be very hard to position yourself on social media as an expert with a very low following.

You will blend right into the mass of businesses that offers the same services as you are.

2. Easier to build a strong community

When you start working for your ideal customers, they will recommend you to their friends in the same market segment. Because they know, YOU are for them.

Even if you advertise yourself as a niche, you can still totally work on other projects or the type of audience you like.

3. You position yourself as their expert

Be known to be very good at one thing and be good so good at it. So the next thing you will introduce, you already have the trust of your community.

It’s easier for you to be top of mind.

4. Easier framework

It will be easier to scale and create systems to delegate your work.

Having clients with the same demographic means you will most likely be dealing with the same challenges. This will make it easier for you to really nail down the most effective solution for each.

Or to have one or two similar products or services allows you to do the same. Creating systems will be easier, saving you and your clients time.

• Instead of “Life coach” you say “Life coach for single moms”
• Instead of “Money coach” you say “Personal finance coach for millennials”
• Instead of “Business coach” you say “Accelerator coach for beauty business owners”
• Instead of “Fitness coach” you say “Fitness coach for vegans”
