I have seen a lot of business owners get frustrated because, despite the weekly increase in their following, their sales don’t go up.
This made them ask:
“Is spending time in managing my social media platforms even worth it?”
While looking at the number of likes or follows can be a good metric for progress, its increase doesn’t mean more sales, unfortunately.
For example, an Instagram account with 500+ followers does not mean fewer conversions from the ones with 5000+.
Even a lot of “hearts” or comments do not mean your social media platforms are working for your business. Unless you are an influencer or a public figure, then that would make more sense.
For businesses however, if the people following you and the ones liking and commenting your posts are not your “ideal clients”, then you might want to reassess your strategies.
One way to attract your ideal clients is to make sure your posts are SPEAKING to them. What would they like to hear? What do they NEED to hear?
If you are targeting Moms for example, would it make sense if your posts are gaining engagement from teenagers or men? Post something that Moms would love to hear or can relate to.
Even if your posts get lesser likes or comments but it comes from your ideal client, then that’s 100% better. They are the ones that need you after all.
They are the ones who will be reaching out to you for help.
Are you guilty of this?
Do you think your social media is in the right direction?
