Let’s face it, we already have developed the talent of skipping promotional even promotional-looking content. And we generally don’t check our social media to buy something.

We want to learn, keep in touch with relevant people, or be entertained. We avoid posts that scream “BUY ME” or “IM SELLING”, unless we are big fans or we needed it at that exact moment.
If we get bombarded by an account with posts that always tries to sell, usually we unfollow them. So when creating content, try to follow the 80-20% rule.
80% of your posts should be anything that educates, entertains, engages, and is inspiring for your target audience. A post that has ZERO ounce of promotion. This will build trust and a different level of connection to your audience outside of a “buyer-seller” relationship.
Only 20% are posts that promote or feature your services. Don’t be ‘shady’. Just sell and promote right off the bat.If you got the best content that captivates your audience’s interest, they will recognize you as an industry leader and will get curious about what you can help them with.
You might not “get” them right away but you have 80% of your content to hook them with. And don’t forget to promote your services! We know some who are afraid to sell. But your fans are willing to pay if they know you have those services in the first place.
This is still a bigger discussion though, since it is applied differently across different types of businesses. So keep posted and follow our blog!
